What SASE actually replaces (and what it doesn't)

SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) converges networking and security into a single cloud-delivered service. In practice, it typically replaces site-to-site VPN concentrators and standalone secure web gateways.

What it doesn't automatically replace is your identity provider, your endpoint protection, or your existing firewall policy logic — those still need to be carried over and re-mapped during migration.

The teams that get the most value treat SASE as a phased network redesign, not a one-time appliance swap.
